The Ladysmith Kinsmen Club, in conjunction with the Ladysmith Festival of Lights Committee, are no longer accepting entries for the 2024 Light Up Parade, which kicked off the Festival of Lights season.
Parade lineup usually starts at 5:00 pm.
Parade usually begins at 6:40 pm SHARP!
The Route
Line up on both sides of Methuen Street.
Entries will be given a number and participants line up behind that number. Route proceeds along First Avenue to Bob Stuart Park (where riders disembark) and all empty floats will proceed across the highway to designated parking areas along Rocky Creek Road. There will be traffic control personnel to direct the parade and their directions must be followed.
"Just wanted to say that I’ve been flooded with positive comments for the Light Up event, the new lights and the new look of the Chuck Perrin tree. I don’t remember a kick off like that EVER. Was so great and our family felt so fortunate to be able to be in the crowd and just enjoy the energy and ‘all the feels’. Seeing the volunteers out the next morning tuning everything up is such a testament to your group and Ladysmith as a community. You should all be very proud."
